Starting from the year 2023, the organization of iCompEx has moved towards an international level through collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), which has had a positive impact on various parties. iCompEx has successfully enhanced creativity and the culture of innovation among competition participants to ensure that the innovation projects presented meet the quality standards set by the competition organizers. Among the countries that participated in the 2023 edition of the event were Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, China, and Bangladesh.

Furthermore, the organization of iCompEx has also had a positive impact on POLIMAS students in particular, as well as students from other polytechnics and the Malaysian community in general, by encouraging participants to think creatively in developing high-impact innovative projects. Students and Malaysians are also exposed to taking innovative ideas to the international level, indirectly providing valuable experience for polytechnic and community college students, especially in building confidence and communication skills. This is one of the strategies towards developing TVET graduates with global citizenship and holistic characteristics.

This aspiration clearly demonstrates that iCompEx is an innovation competition that serves as the best platform for all parties and target groups to present their ideas and creations to elevate the country as a regional innovation hub. This aligns with the strategic plan of the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK) in efforts to strengthen responsive and sustainable governance.
